Training on environmental restoration in Panarea

From 2 to 5 October 2023, a second training course aimed at the staff of the Germplasm Bank of the Ministry for Gozo was organized in Panarea (Natura 2000 site “Island of Panarea and Viciniori islets”). Participants were illustrated with methods for eradicating invasive alien species such as Opuntia ficus-indica and Carpobrotus acinaciformis and for strengthening populations of threatened wild species. In this case Anthemis aeolica was used as a model species. Participants were also involved in the planting of Anthemis aeolica plants, in direct sowing and in the monitoring of individuals moved to Lisca Bianca in the spring of 2023.
